Conveniently set in the Shuzenji Onsen district of Izu, Shuzenji Onsen Katsuragawa is located a 7-minute walk from Shuzen-ji Temple, 9.2 miles from Mount Daruma and 22 miles from Koibito Misaki Cape.

The buffet breakfast was really good. I loved how there were so many different private onsen and that there weren't any lineups. There is a health room with massage chairs and foot massager and some health measures that was nice. I was surprise there were so much kids entertainment there as well. The location was close to the near by attractions. There was free parking as well. Overall it was a great experience

Hostel Knot, hotel in Izu

Offering city views, Hostel Knot in Izu features accommodations and a shared lounge. This 2-star guest house offers a shared kitchen and full-day security.

Cleanest hostel I’ve ever been in, convenient location, and reasonably priced. But what really blew me away was the service. Hey-san was incredibly helpful with recommendations and reservations nearby. He even helped with our laundry while we were out and about. Our whole group loved staying here.

Omoideno Jinde, hotel in Izu

3.4 miles from Koibito Misaki Cape, Omoideno Jinde provides 3-star accommodations in the Toi Onsen district of Izu. This ryokan offers free private parking, luggage storage space, and free Wifi.

We went to Omoideno Jinde for our first year anniversary. We had an amazing day. The onsen is built on a set with a magnificent view of fields, and sea. On your right, you can see Mount Fuji. The outdoor onsen has a beautiful sea view. You also can book the private bathrooms by putting your name on the list. The water is spring water from the mountains and has healing effects. My hair and skin were in excellent condition the next day. I also found the shampoo, conditioner, and body soaps high quality, and they had a pleasant, relaxing fragrance. You can choose your yukata to your liking. They have a rich collection of colorful and design yukatas you can select from. The dinner and breakfast were exquisite, rich with fresh sashimi, and other cooked fish, delicious tempura and various side dishes. The owners of the onsen are very kind. They let us check in earlier and gave us the room with the private bath as it was available on that day. You can experience the true Japanese hospitality and comfort in this ryokan. That's why it would preferable if you speak at least beginner-level Japanese. We would definitely love to visit again in the future.

There is a more to explore here than we realized. Apart from hiking up hills for great views, we did not budget enough time for more sight-seeing. We had wanted to visit a wasabi farm but wound up at a wasabi market which was really cool with lots of wasabi based products - that was an experience in itself. Probably best explored by car.

It was a lovely small town, a welcome change from busy cities crowded with tourists. Very relaxing, beautiful hot springs in the middle of town, a charming temple and shrine surrounded by huge cedar trees. We stayed twi nights and really enjoyed it. From Shuzenji station you can take bus to a viewing area where if the weather conditions are right you can view Mt Fuji.

Izu is a beautiful coastal city. I like the quiet streets over there. Like a wide variety of fresh seafood. Like to enjoy the magnificent scenery of Mount Fuji in Izu Panorama Park. I like this visually pleasing place,

A car or bike is really essential to get around, and see the the sights, as buses may only run a few times each day. Doi Gold Mine is an excellent working museum, lots to see and touch, even handle the pure gold ingots weighing 12.5kg. You can even do some gold panning. 400 metres of caves have been prepared as an example of the old hand-dug mines, 30 cm per day. Mihama beach is great for families, sheltered, with good facilities, and the nearby Heda museum documenting Japan-Russian relations. Lots of small coastal towns, with some places to stay, though many restaurants close early, and there are very few convenience stores, meaning you need to stock up and plan your trip and meals. Food is mainly sea food, izakayas, the odd Italian and Chinese restaurant, and some tea/ coffee shops. Not really a culinary hot spot. Beach restaurants serve ramen, hot dogs, yakisoba, and other fast foods. Quite a few abandoned places, relics of the bubble era.

public transport is very difficult, expensive and quite rare, make sure to check timetables (all in japanese by the way) because you can end up waiting hours for the next bus. But very beautiful and many many things to see so leave a lot of time and maybe rent a car if you can

Good parts: The seafood is fantastic. Bad parts: The Toi sakura is a little disappointing for the volume is far from enough. And the traffic is not so convenient considering most buses only come once an hour.

Beautiful, remote location, with a river running down below, creating a perfect atmosphere to relax. Stayed together with my partner it's the perfect place. Peace and quiet, baths at the pension as well as delicious food in the morning. If you have access to a car, I highly suggest this place over others. We highly recommend this and would come back here if we ever go to Izu again. The absolut best part was the host - on of the kindest people in Japan.

Best accommodation in Shuzenji if you want to explore the Izu Peninsula. The hostel was amazing, the facilities were very clean and you can use them whenever you need. Ryohey was such an amazing host, he knows many good spots around Izu, he also gave me directions to get to some of them (thanks my friend). If I am around the area again I'd definitely stay here.

Staff are very kind. Food is the greatest I have ever had considering the onsen hotels I have stayed before. The view from the room is like traditional Japanese style garden. Very relaxing experience! The manager gave us a ride back to Shuzenji station, and along the way the manager tried to use translator to chat with us. Really nice experience.

Very nice traditional room, lot of space, direct view on the river. There's only a sink but we were close to the outside bathroom and this is often the deal with traditional old ryokan. The breakfast was Japanese and very nice, we loved the room where it was served. The location is right inside Shuzenji, it was lovely.

Quiet place. Not much to do around Shuzenji. Came for a 3-day quiet time and it was passable. But for tourists, recommended stay is a night. Around the time I was there, not many others booked this place, which made it quieter. They provided a map of nearby eateries which is nice.

The rooms are fantastic. We had a private onsen on our terrace with a beautiful view of Mt Fuji. The staff are so helpful and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. In particular Hiroki Endo who helped us with our ongoing travel.

One of the most efficiently run hotels that I’ve been to. The whole system is seamless and the quality of the food was also excellent. Hot springs pools are devine. I now would like to stay in all other hotels run by this corporation.
